Germany Beck public meeting
There was a fantastic attendence for the meeting last Thursday and many of the issues which are of concern were aired.
The inspector listened patiently and answered questions helpfully.
The inquiry will end on Monday (24th) although there will be a site-meeting on Friday July 28th – anyone wishing to point out any feature or area of concern to the inspector should meet at the cemetery gates at 10.30 am. The inspector will tour different areas of the Germany Beck development throughout the day.
The decision of the Secretary of State will not be forthcoming for several months. Of course we hope that the decision for both Germany Beck & Derwenthorpe will be a resounding “NO”!
Connaught Court
A big thank you to all who donated towards the Fulford Friends fund for Connaught Court – over £100 was collected and this will help us to pay for costs already incurred and to continue our fight!
The decision is likely to be taken towards the end of September and we will let you know.

The proposal is reccommended for refusal on grounds that the bowling green is not of sufficient quality.
The committee meeting commences at 4.30pm with Connaught Court being 5th on agenda. The site meeting starts at 1.20 at the entrance to Connaught Court. Please come along if you are able.

It seems that the council is allowing the RMBI to revise their plans once again and there will be further re-consultation with residents before the application can be determined. Will it be June? Who knows? The problems of the bowling green have been obvious from the very beginning and it is outragous that the council did not advise the developers before now that the green is unfeasible in its present location.
