Amended plans.
All revisions since aborted committee meeting in June 2006.
K. 6/6/06 Width of bowling green reduced to provide walkway to north, Size of bowling club (pavilion) increased. Parking space omitted adjacent tree 271. Play area 5A adjusted & size of play area 5B corrected.
L. 21/6/06 Parking and layout to Extra Care Sheltered Housing amended. Parking to Medical Centre omitted. Playgrounds amended. Footpaths amended at west end. Bowling Green amended.
M. 7/8/06 Footpath layout to south west of bowling green amended. Tree 280 to be removed & parking to Extra Care Sheltered Housing revised.
N. 8/9/06 Footprint of Extra Care Sheltered Unit amended to create greater clearance to tree 287. Cycle link to western boundary added.
O. 6/2/07 Walkway around tree 271 amended.
The most significant changes are the omission of the parking for the health centre and the introduction of a footpath/cycle link from the site directly through the floodplain to the Ings.
The RMBI have (very unwillingly)) now offered to provide 25% affordable housing. This is because the council officers have rightly insisted that charitable status does not relieve developers of their obligations in this respect. (The RMBI finances are extremely healthy)!
Bowling Green. The numerous changes to the bowling green area demonstrate that the architects are having significant problems trying to sqeeze a green into an area which is too small and which has too many mature trees in close proximity. They deserve full marks for effort but their attempts to provide a green comensurate with that existing, will fail against insurmounable technical difficulties.
Footpath/cycle link to Ings. The police disapproved of any link to the west of the site, citing potential security problems due to the creation of an additional access and escape route for the criminal.
The link is sited adjacent to one of the playgrounds which will seriously compromise the safety of children and will undoubtedly encourage teenage drinking, drug-taking and other anti-social behaviour.
Parking for surgery
The extra parking previously allocated for the health centre has been deleted which, due to the new junction on Fulford Road/Main St will result in a considerable net loss of parking availability in this part of Fulford.

The proposal is reccommended for refusal on grounds that the bowling green is not of sufficient quality.
The committee meeting commences at 4.30pm with Connaught Court being 5th on agenda. The site meeting starts at 1.20 at the entrance to Connaught Court. Please come along if you are able.

It seems that the council is allowing the RMBI to revise their plans once again and there will be further re-consultation with residents before the application can be determined. Will it be June? Who knows? The problems of the bowling green have been obvious from the very beginning and it is outragous that the council did not advise the developers before now that the green is unfeasible in its present location.

There is a continuing problem with the council’s website which will not allow objections to this application to be made online.
CoYC are aware of this assured us some time ago that they will try to rectify the fault. Lucky we are so patient!
(Posted: 14 April 07)
The deadline for objections is April 18th and it is advisable to write as soon as possible, but it is still worth objecting even if you miss this date because all representations will continue to be accepted right up to the Committee meeting – probably 31st May with site meeting on 30th.
(Posted: 10 April 07)
All our previous objections to this development remain and the latest revisions do not begin to address the major problems.
We are reliably informed that the earliest date for the Committee to decide on the scheme will be in May – possibly the 17th.

Some of these have not yet been advised to residents by CoYC.
