Revised plans.
Letters have finally been sent out detailing both the Oct and Feb changes. All our previous objections to this development remain and the latest revisions do not begin to address the major problems.
1. The two conservation areas will be irreparably harmed.
2. Many trees will be lost.
3. The bowling green is unfeasible in its current location.
4. The playgrounds are unfeasible in their current locations.
5. The setting of the Green Belt Ings (SSSI) will be harmed.
6. The residents of Connaught Court will suffer a drastic loss of amenity.
We are reliably informed that the earliest date for the Committee to decide on the scheme will be in May – possibly the 17th.
The revised plans are now on the Public Access website of CoYC but there are some problems and it is not possible at the moment to object online to this application. We have notified the relevant officers and we are assured that they will address this point.

The proposal is reccommended for refusal on grounds that the bowling green is not of sufficient quality.
The committee meeting commences at 4.30pm with Connaught Court being 5th on agenda. The site meeting starts at 1.20 at the entrance to Connaught Court. Please come along if you are able.

It seems that the council is allowing the RMBI to revise their plans once again and there will be further re-consultation with residents before the application can be determined. Will it be June? Who knows? The problems of the bowling green have been obvious from the very beginning and it is outragous that the council did not advise the developers before now that the green is unfeasible in its present location.

There is a continuing problem with the council’s website which will not allow objections to this application to be made online.
CoYC are aware of this assured us some time ago that they will try to rectify the fault. Lucky we are so patient!

The deadline for objections is April 18th and it is advisable to write as soon as possible, but it is still worth objecting even if you miss this date because all representations will continue to be accepted right up to the Committee meeting – probably 31st May with site meeting on 30th.
